ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. - The sixth-seeded Monroe College - Bronx men's soccer team's 2023 season came to an end on Thursday, October 19, with a 3-0 loss to nationally ranked No. 7, and third-seeded, Ulster County Community College in the first round of the Region 15 Tournament. The match took place on the campus of Bard College.

It was a strong season for Monroe - Bronx as they rallied to make the Region 15 Tournament as the sixth and final seed, out of 13 total teams in the region, despite starting the season off 0-2-0 in regional play. The Express went unbeaten in seven of their last 10 regular season matches to secure a playoff berth and faced strong competition throughout the season.

Ulster County (11-1-2) scored the first goal 36:00 into the match, and then added two more tallies in the second half, to secure a berth in the semifinal round of the Region 15 Postseason. The Senators were led by freshman forward Ashaasea Sankofa who scored a goal and tallied an assist during the contest.

Leading the way for the Express (6-6-1) was freshman goalkeeper Krit Raj Maharjan who made three saves for the Blue and Gold. His counterpart, freshman goalkeeper Cody Baker, made five saves for the Senators.

During the afternoon, Ulster County outshot Monroe - Bronx, 15-7, and had the advantage in corner kicks, 4-1.

Ulster County will take on the second-seeded and nationally ranked No. 6 Suffolk Community College, in the semifinal round of the Region 15 Tournament, on Sunday, October 22. The action on the campus of Suffolk County Community College will begin at noon.
