BRONX - The Monroe College - Bronx men's soccer team will close out the regular season with a critical matchup against Dutchess Community College on Tuesday, October 16 with a trip to the Region 15 Postseason on the line. The action at Culinary institute of America Soccer Field will begin at 4:00 p.m.

If the Express win or tie the match, they will clinch the sixth and final Region 15 playoff berth. If Monroe loses, then Rockland would enter the regional playoff as the final seed. The Express have the tiebreaker over the Hawks, because the Blue and Gold won the head-to-head counter between the two teams back on September 28. That's why if the Express tie the Falcons in the final regular season match and end up even with the Hawks in the standings, Monroe would be the team that qualifies for the postseason.

After getting off to an 0-2 start in Region 15 play, the Express (5-5-1, 5-5-1 Region 15) went unbeaten in six of the final nine regional matches to climb up the standings.

Leading the way for Monroe - Bronx has been sophomore defender Lorenz Utz who has scored seven goals and provided three assists so far this season. Classmate James Gallagher is having a productive season with a trio of goals and six helpers.

Dutchess (2-10, 2-9 Region 15) has earned regional wins over Orange County Community College and LaGuardia Community College. The Falcons have been led by freshman midfielder Aidan Yereance who has scored six goals and provided a pair of assists so far this year.

Monroe is 4-1 all-time against Dutchess.

ABOUT THE ATHLETIC PROGRAM AT MONROE COLLEGE
The athletic program at Monroe College encompasses a total of 31 teams competing across nine sports. There are 21 varsity and junior varsity programs, as well as club men's and women's rugby, the Monroe College marching band, and the newly added esports and men's volleyball programs, competing on the New Rochelle campus as the Mustangs (NJCAA Division I). The Monroe Express, based out of the Bronx campus, has seven teams competing at the NJCAA Division III level.
