BRONX - The Monroe College - Bronx men's soccer team will take on LaGuardia Community College, in a Region 15 matchup, on Saturday, October 14. The action at Barrett Field, on the campus of Westchester Community College, will begin at 1:00 p.m.

It's Sophomore Day and 10 second-year players for Monroe - Bronx will be honored. They are Abdoulaye Soumare, Almonder Alabead, Joel David, Vitor de Oliveira, Khwezi Gema, Enzo de Oliveira, Christian Schmidt, Larry Alvarado, Lorenz Utz, and James Gallagher.

The Express are in the thick of the Region 15 playoff race. If Monroe - Bronx wins both of its remaining regular season matches, and Rockland Community College either loses to or ties No. 6 Suffolk County Community College, on Sunday, then the Express will clinch the sixth and final postseason spot.

The Red Hawks (0-10-0, 0-10-0 Region 15) are aiming for their first win of the season. 

ABOUT THE ATHLETIC PROGRAM AT MONROE COLLEGE
The athletic program at Monroe College encompasses a total of 31 teams competing across nine sports. There are 21 varsity and junior varsity programs, as well as club men's and women's rugby, the Monroe College marching band, and the newly added esports and men's volleyball programs, competing on the New Rochelle campus as the Mustangs (NJCAA Division I). The Monroe Express, based out of the Bronx campus, has seven teams competing at the NJCAA Division III level.
