NEW YORK, NY – Following a dramatic five set loss against the Dutchess Community College Falcons, the Express responded with a three set shutout Thursday evening against the Fashion Institute of Technology Tigers (1-5, 1-1 Region XV) to push their record to 4-1 on the season. The victory also continues the Express' undefeated road record for the young regular season.

Lisanel Rodriguez led the contest with nine points, on 15 swings with eight kills, seven digs, four errors and one service ace. This marks her fifth consecutive game with eight or more kills. Xing Stewart-Greer followed with four kills on four attempts with one error, to log a .750 percent attacking rate. Lesly Almonte pitched in five points and five kills.

The Express travel to Brooklyn, NY Saturday (Sept. 17) for a Region XV tri-match against the Kingsborough Community College Wave (1-0, 1-0 Region XV) at 12:00 PM and the Queensborough Community College Tigers (1-2, 0-0 Region XV) at 1:15 PM.

ABOUT THE ATHLETIC PROGRAM AT MONROE COLLEGE
The athletic program at Monroe College encompasses a total of 35 teams competing across nine sports. There are 21 varsity and junior varsity programs, as well as club men's and women's rugby, the Monroe College marching band, and the newly added esports and men's volleyball programs, competing on the New Rochelle campus as the Mustangs (NJCAA Division I). The Monroe Express, based out of the Bronx campus, has 14 teams competing at the NJCAA Division III level.
