Monroe Express Baseball Swept In Sunday Doubleheader At Middlesex County College

Edison, N.J., March 20, 2022 – The Monroe Express Baseball team dropped a pair of matchups to Middlesex County College on Sunday afternoon, falling 10-5 in Game 1 and 9-2 in Game 2. The Express fell to 3-7 on the season while Middlesex County College improved to 16-4.

Game 1 Highlights: Middlesex County College 10, Monroe Express 5
- In the loss, the Express collected 12 hits, outhitting Middlesex County College 12-5.
- Fermin Soto started for the Express, going four innings, allowing eight runs on two hits while walking six batters. Alex Rodriguez Bello (Bronx, N.Y.) allowed three hits and two runs while striking out two and walking one.
- Joseph Rosario (New York, N.Y.), Ruben Ogando (Providence, Rhode Island), and Ernie Farrell (Corona, New York) all recorded multi-hit games, with Rosario and Ogando registering a team-high tied three hits apiece.
- Rosario, Juan Jorge (Bronx, N.Y.), and Ramsel Jerez drove in one run apiece.

Game 2 Highlights: Middlesex County College 9, Monroe Express 2
- Denis Garcia (Port Chester, New York) started for the Express, going four innings allowing four hits and four runs while striking out two and walking two.
- Emmanuel Aviles went 1.1 innings out of the bullpen allowing three hits and two runs while striking out one.
- The Express had five hits in the contest as Salomon Lluveres (Providence, Rhode Island) led the team with two hits going 2-for-3 at the plate. Malvin Gutierrez (New York, N.Y.), Jose Arrieta (New Bedford, MA), and Ernie Farrell (Corona, New York) had one hit each.

ABOUT THE ATHLETIC PROGRAM AT MONROE COLLEGE
The athletic program at Monroe College encompasses a total of 36 teams competing across nine sports.
