VIRGINIA BEACH, VA – Monroe Express men's basketball left Virginia Beach, winning their second contest this weekend against the Bryant & Stratton Bobcats, taking on their junior varsity team, winning 89-63 inside Atlantic Shores Christian School Gymnasium. The Express' record is now 9-5, B&S falls to 2-5.
In the victory, both
Oramis Figuereo and
Andrew Molina scored 20 points. Figuereo added five rebounds, two assists and one steal. Molina pitched in a season-high 16 rebounds, one block and one steal.
Chad Duke contributed 12 points, while
Jasigha Barnes dished 10 assists.Â
The Express complete their three game road trip Sunday (Dec. 18) against the Virginia Peninsula Community College Gators in a non-conference stint in Hampton, VA at 1 PM.
ABOUT THE ATHLETIC PROGRAM AT MONROE COLLEGE
The athletic program at Monroe College encompasses a total of 35 teams competing across nine sports. There are 21 varsity and junior varsity programs, as well as club men's and women's rugby, the Monroe College marching band, and the newly added esports and men's volleyball programs, competing on the New Rochelle campus as the Mustangs (NJCAA Division I). The Monroe Express, based out of the Bronx campus, has 14 teams competing at the NJCAA Division III level.
