Monroe Express Women’s Basketball Finish Road Tournament Following Loss to Rowan

The Express return to the court Thursday (Nov. 3) in conference play against QCC

SYRACUSE, NY – Monroe-Bronx women's basketball concluded the Onondaga Kickoff Tournament after a 96-76 defeat to the Rowan College of Gloucester County Roadrunners in Syracuse, NY. With the loss, the Express move to 0-2 in the early season.

When asked about his team's effort during this weekend's tournament, head coach Jeremy Thompson shared, "We wanted to face good nationally ranked teams this weekend. We wanted a challenge to kick off the season! Wouldn't trade the experience for anything, we know how talented we are and what a great team we can be. Credit to RCSJ, CCRI and Onondaga. These are three excellent teams with great coaches! But We'll be back at it Thursday and ready to go for QCC."

Aleah James led the Express in scoring with 17 points, including perfect trips to the free throw line (4/4), narrowly followed by Ariella Johnson with 16 points.

The Express travel to Bayside, NY Thursday (Nov. 10) for a Region 15 contest against the Queensborough Community College Tigers at 5 PM.
