NEW ROCHELLE, NY – Monroe Express men's soccer ended their regular season home schedule Saturday afternoon in convincing fashion, scoring 13 goals to one, against the Dutchess Community College Falcons. The blue and goal raise their win streak to four against Dutchess dating back to the 2017 season, winning by an average of six goals.
The Express got on the offensive attack early, with a Zion Julien sliding one in from Juan Henao at the 11:34 mark to break the scoring ice. Seven minutes later, Debrasco Dorvilma found himself wide open just outside the box to score the easiest goal for the afternoon. Monroe found themselves in scoring position for much of the game, attempting 17 shots in the first half. A self goal from Monroe's starting goalie Elhadji Anne trimmed the lead to four points on the cusp of the end of the first period, settling it at 5-1.
Monroe would raise the scoring output more than ten fold, raising their scoring attempts to 30 for the second half. Yoself Tamay would slot in a solo goal at the 71 minute mark, raising the lead to 7-1, and the Express would go on to score a goal almost every three minutes, eventually settling the final at 13-1. With an overall balanced scoring effort, the Express continue to sit atop the Region 15 rankings.
