Monroe-Bronx Men’s Soccer Challenges NCC in Regular Season Finale

The Express begin their postseason run Saturday (Oct. 22)

GARDEN CITY, NY – Monroe-Bronx men's soccer competed in their regular season finale Monday afternoon against the Nassau Community College Lions, resulting in a 0-1 loss in Garden City, NY. The Express end their 2022 campaign with a 8-4-1 overall record, going 7-2 against Region 15 competition.

In what was a defensive slugfest, this match came down to a single goal that allowed the Lions to escape with the victory. The lone point came in the twelfth minute when a Monroe miscue led to an early Trevor Cueto score, which ultimately led to the final.

Juan Henao, Noe Charles-Messance and Federico Sandoval registered the three Monroe shot attempts. Goalkeeper Alessio Pirrello posted two saves. The Express as a team has four corner kicks, three shots and two saves.

The Express will host the quarterfinals of the Region 15 tournament Saturday (Oct. 22), and the opponent and start time will be announced in the coming days.
