New Rochelle, N.Y., December, 5 2021 – On Saturday afternoon at Monroe Athletic Complex, the Monroe Express fell to Orange County Community College, 105-75. The loss ended the Express's five-game winning streak dropping them to 6-2, while the Colts remain undefeated at 6-0 with the victory.
Express had three players finish the afternoon in double figures, led by freshman Jasigha Barnes (Baldwin, New York) who posted a team-high 19 points and tied for another with seven boards. Barnes also snatched a team-high five steals while sophomore Onterio Miller (Bronx, New York) and freshman Chad Duke (Brooklyn, New York) chipped in with 13 points and 11 points, respectively. Isaiah Stone (Baldwin, New York) also dished out a team-best six assists in the contest.
Monroe-Bronx could never get into a rhythm in the first half as Orange County Community College struck fast in the first half, jetting out to a 15-2 run through the first 17:05, then building the lead to 32, 43-11 on a Nicholas Molina layup at 8:13. In the first half, Orange County Community College 63.9% from the field (23-36 FG) and took a 55-28 advantage into the halftime break.
The Express would score eight of the first 14 points of the second half to get the deficit down to 25, 61-36 on 16:34 when Jaiden Simon (Brooklyn, N.Y.) went 1-for-2 from the line. However, it was the closest they would get as the Colts built their lead to its largest of the afternoon 38, 101-63 on a Darius Boben layup at 2:14 and rolled from there to victory.
Orange county community college for players finished the contest in double figures with two posting double-doubles. Nicholas Molina dropped a game-high 31 points while Tim Linton and Kevin Stein recorded double-doubles, with Linton registered 26 points and 13 rebounds and Stein posted 14 points in 11 rebounds. Darius Boban also had 13 points, and Romeo Aquino dished out a team-high five assists.

ABOUT THE ATHLETIC PROGRAM AT MONROE COLLEGE
The athletic program at Monroe College encompasses a total of 36 teams competing across nine sports. There are 19 varsity and junior varsity programs, as well as club men's and women's rugby, the Monroe College marching band, and the newly added esports program, competing on the New Rochelle campus as the Mustangs (NJCAA Division I).
