Monroe Express Women's Volleyball Season Comes To End In Straight Sets To Top-Seeded Queensborough In Regional Quarterfinals

Bayside, N.Y., October 21, 2021 - The #8-seed Monroe Express women's volleyball team lost in their 2021 Region 15 Quarterfinals match to host #1-seed Queensborough Community College in straight sets - 25-11, 25-18, 27-25 - on Thursday evening at Queensborough Gymnasium. After Queensborough cruised through the first two sets, 25-11 and 25-18, the Express would not go away in the third, putting on a full-court press to hold off a three-set sweep. Monroe-Bronx tied the final set three times at three, six, and eight apiece in the early going back and forth with the Tigers eventually throughout before eventually taking a one-point lead 24-23. However, Queensborough held off a final surge from the Express to prevent going into a fourth set by scoring four of the last five points to take the match 3-0.
