Garden City, N.Y., October 12, 2021 - Sophomore Jeribeth Hodge (Bronx, N.Y.) registered the first triple-double in Monroe Express women's volleyball history helping the Express go punch for punch with Nassau Community College on the road Tuesday evening, despite dropping the match in straight sets (25-27, 19-25, 20-25) in Garden City, NY. The loss drops the Express to 3-8 (3-7 Region XV), while the Tigers improve to 6-9 (4-9 Region 15).
The first set was a back and forth affair and went the distance before Nassau Community College could grind out the final two points take the first game 27-25. After the Tigers took the second set 25-19, the Express rallied to make the final set a competitive one, but Nassau would take control down the stretch to sweep the Express straight sets with a 25-20 victory in the third set.
Hodge put on quite a show spearheading the Express offense and defense on the evening with her and the program's first career triple-double smashing a career-high 12 kills and recording a team-best 12 assists and 17 digs on defense while tying for team-high in blocks with two. Freshman Adaiah Felix (Bronx, New York) put up her team-leading fourth double-digit kill performance with 11 kills and tied a team-best with two blocks. Fellow freshman Arielys Colon (Bronx, New York) placed a team-best two service aces and added four kills on the night.
Defensively, Freshman Emely Diaz (Bronx, New York) put up her fourth double-digit dig match on the year with 15 digs, while Colon contributed 11 digs in the match.
The Express will finish their 2021 Regular Season strong in their final Regional Double Dual of the season Saturday, October 16 at 12 p.m. and 1:15 p.m. in Middletown, NY. For more information, visit the Monroe Express Women's Volleyball Page.

ABOUT THE ATHLETIC PROGRAM AT MONROE COLLEGE
The athletic program at Monroe College encompasses a total of 36 teams competing across nine sports. There are 19 varsity and junior varsity programs, as well as club men's and women's rugby, the Monroe College marching band, and the newly added esports program, competing on the New Rochelle campus as the Mustangs (NJCAA Division I).
