WARWICK, R.I., February 8, 2020 – The Monroe College Express women's basketball team wrapped up their two-game New England road swing on Saturday afternoon, blowing past the Community College of Rhode Island Knights, 68-34. The Express improve to 16-10 overall with the victory.
Freshman
Anya Shepherd led the Express with a breakout performance, scoring a career-high 15 points, along with eight rebounds and two steals. Freshman
Quanisha Griffin added a game-high 20 points, four rebounds, five assists, and five steals. Freshman
Ramatoulaye Diallo dropped in 12 points, three rebounds, two blocks, and a pair of steals.

Desteny Arzu grabbed a new career-high 16 rebounds while
Aissata Diallo pulled downed a career-high 10 rebounds in the win.
Imoni Beauvais finished with six points, six rebounds, three assists, and three steals while
Monae Laing had seven points, four rebounds, and two steals.
Up next, the Express women's basketball program welcomes Suffolk County Community College to the Monroe Athletic Complex on Tuesday, Feb. 11 at 7:00 p.m.
ABOUT THE ATHLETIC PROGRAM AT MONROE COLLEGE
The athletic program at Monroe College encompasses a total of 30 teams competing across nine sports. There are 19 varsity and junior varsity programs, as well as club men's and women's rugby, competing on the New Rochelle campus as the Monroe Mustangs (NJCAA Division I). The Monroe Express, based out of the Bronx campus as of the fall of 2017, has 11 varsity and junior varsity teams competing at the NJCAA Division III level.
