Brockton, Mass., February 7, 2020 – The Monroe College Express women's basketball team dropped a non-conference matchup against No. 2 nationally ranked Massasoit Community College, 76-33, on Friday afternoon. The Express fall to 15-10 overall while the Warriors improve to 17-0.
Freshman
Quanisha Griffin led the Express with 15 points and six steals. Freshman
Aissata Diallo totaled a career-high nine rebounds. Freshman
Imoni Beauvais had four points and six rebounds while sophomore
Monae Laing added three points and six rebounds. Rookie
Desteny Arzu finish with two points and six rebounds while freshman
Anya Shepherd grabbed four rebounds and freshman
Ramatoulaye Diallo pulled down three.
The Express close out their two-game road swing tomorrow afternoon against the Community College of Rhode Island at 2:00 p.m.
ABOUT THE ATHLETIC PROGRAM AT MONROE COLLEGE
The athletic program at Monroe College encompasses a total of 30 teams competing across nine sports. There are 19 varsity and junior varsity programs, as well as club men's and women's rugby, competing on the New Rochelle campus as the Monroe Mustangs (NJCAA Division I). The Monroe Express, based out of the Bronx campus as of the fall of 2017, has 11 varsity and junior varsity teams competing at the NJCAA Division III level.
