Brooklyn, N.Y., February 6, 2020 – The Monroe Express men's basketball program showcased a stellar offensive performance on Thursday night, blowing past ASA College-Manhattan, 101-77, on the road. The victory marks the first time the Express have surpassed the century mark this season, achieving their highest point total of the season.

The victory notches the team's fifth consecutive victory while improving to 10-15 overall and 6-9 in Region XV play.
The Express were efficient on the offensive end, shooting 53.2 percent from the floor, including 41.2 percent from deep range. The team dished out 26 assists in the contest, marking a new season-high.
Rookie
Kevon Wiggins paced the Express with a game-high 25 points. He went 10-for-18 from the field and added five rebounds and four steals for the Express. Freshman
Isiah Ryan finished with 18 points, four rebounds, and four steals in 15 minutes of play in the second half.
Sophomore
Kevin Benjamin dialed in 13 points, a career-high nine assists, five rebounds, and two steals in the win. Freshman
Adonis Robinson tallied 11 points and dished five assists. Sophomore
Jameek Brown added 11 points and a career-high steals off the bench. Freshman
Navare Thompson poured in eight points and a pair of steals in his appearance of the season.
Freshman
Jaiden Simon netted five points, along with two rebounds while
Brayan Lara had four points and five rebounds. Sophomore
Orbis De Los Santos picked up four points and three rebounds while
Charlie Fernandez grabbed four rebounds.
The Express returns to the hardwood this weekend as they travel upstate to take on SUNY Sullivan for 2:00 p.m. contest on Saturday, Feb. 7.
ABOUT THE ATHLETIC PROGRAM AT MONROE COLLEGE
The athletic program at Monroe College encompasses a total of 30 teams competing across nine sports. There are 19 varsity and junior varsity programs, as well as club men's and women's rugby, competing on the New Rochelle campus as the Monroe Mustangs (NJCAA Division I). The Monroe Express, based out of the Bronx campus as of the fall of 2017, has 11 varsity and junior varsity teams competing at the NJCAA Division III level.
