New Rochelle, N.Y., February 25, 2020 - The Monroe College Express men's basketball team fell in the 2020 Region XV Quarterfinals on Tuesday night, dropping an 83-79 decision to Bronx Community College.

Freshman Kevon Wiggins finished with his second career double-double, posting 31 points and 13 rebounds to lead the Express. Freshman Isiah Ryan had 15 points and four rebounds. Sophomore Kevin Benjamin recorded nine points, eight rebounds, and four assists. 

Sophomore Jameek Brown added eight, four rebounds, and three assists. Sophomore Brayan Lara notched six points, six rebounds, and one block while Adonis Robinson tallied six points, three rebounds, and two steals.

Tilquan Rucker notched 29 points in addition to seven rebounds and five steals to lead Bronx CC in the victory. Malik Hamilton tallied 21 points and seven rebounds while Steven Glover registered 19 points and 10 rebounds.

The Express outshot the Broncos in the contest 44.3 percent to 42 percent. Each team grabbed even 43 rebounds in the contest.

The Express finishes the 2019-20 season with 12-18 record.

ABOUT THE ATHLETIC PROGRAM AT MONROE COLLEGE
The athletic program at Monroe College encompasses a total of 30 teams competing across nine sports. There are 19 varsity and junior varsity programs, as well as club men's and women's rugby, competing on the New Rochelle campus as the Monroe Mustangs (NJCAA Division I). The Monroe Express, based out of the Bronx campus as of the fall of 2017, has 11 varsity and junior varsity teams competing at the NJCAA Division III level.
