Albany, N.Y., February 11, 2020 – The Monroe Express JV women's basketball team dropped a road contest on Tuesday night, falling to Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, 78-51.
Freshman
Ashley Molina finished the night with a team-high 16 points, seven rebounds, and four assists. Freshman
Alimah Goodwin added her second straight double-double, picking finishing with 15 points and 16 rebounds. Freshman collected 16 points, nine rebounds, two assists, two blocks, and two steals.
Freshman
Rovell Cayenne posted 10 rebounds, three assists, and a pair of steals while
Ilene Torres had two points and three rebounds.
Albany narrowly outrebounded the Express holding a 59-55 advantage on the glass.
The Express JV women's basketball program returns to action on Thursday, Feb. 13 against Ocean County Community College.
ABOUT THE ATHLETIC PROGRAM AT MONROE COLLEGE
The athletic program at Monroe College encompasses a total of 30 teams competing across nine sports. There are 19 varsity and junior varsity programs, as well as club men's and women's rugby, competing on the New Rochelle campus as the Monroe Mustangs (NJCAA Division I). The Monroe Express, based out of the Bronx campus as of the fall of 2017, has 11 varsity and junior varsity teams competing at the NJCAA Division III level.
