LONG BRANCH, N.J., September 7, 2019 – The Monroe College Express women's soccer team dropped a 9-0 decision at Raritan Valley Community College on Saturday. With the loss, the Express drop to 0-2, while the Lions start their season at 1-0.
The Lions scored their first six goals in the opening half on Saturday before adding another three in the second frame. Jill Ferrante led Raritan Valley with four goals on the afternoon.
Julia Hermoso made nine saves for the Express in net, but shouldered the loss to fall to 0-2.

Ramatoulaye Diallo each registered a shot on goal in the game. Diallo led the team with three shot attempts, while
Joanne Chavez fired off two shots.
The Express will look to jump into the win column on Tuesday, Sept. 11, when they host Five Towns College at Flowers Park in New Rochelle for their 2019 home opener. The game is set to begin at 4 p.m.

ABOUT THE ATHLETIC PROGRAM AT MONROE COLLEGE
The athletic program at Monroe College encompasses a total of 31 teams competing across nine sports. There are 19 varsity and junior varsity programs, as well as club men's rugby, competing on the New Rochelle campus as the Monroe Mustangs (NJCAA Division I). The Monroe Express, based out of the Bronx campus, has 12 varsity and junior varsity teams competing at the NJCAA Division III level.
