Monroe Express Women’s Soccer Drops Road Tilt at Ocean County

TOMS RIVER, N.J., September 14, 2019 – The Monroe College Express women's soccer team fell on the road at Ocean County College by a score of 4-0 Saturday afternoon. The Express fall to 0-3 on the season with the loss, while Ocean County improves to 3-0.
 
Goalkeeper Julia Hermoso made an impressive 28 saves in the game, but allowed four goals to shoulder her third loss of the season. Ocean County's Simi Clapman stopped seven shots in the shutout victory.
 
Ramatoulaye Diallo tried four shots in the loss, while Joanne Chavez and Mayra Zurita each attempted a shot apiece.
 
The Express will look to bounce back on Tuesday, Sept. 17, when they host Suffolk County Community College at Flowers Park in New Rochelle, N.Y. The game is set to begin at 4 p.m.

ABOUT THE ATHLETIC PROGRAM AT MONROE COLLEGE
The athletic program at Monroe College encompasses a total of 31 teams competing across nine sports. There are 19 varsity and junior varsity programs, as well as club men's rugby, competing on the New Rochelle campus as the Monroe Mustangs (NJCAA Division I). The Monroe Express, based out of the Bronx campus, has 12 varsity and junior varsity teams competing at the NJCAA Division III level.
