BRONX, N.Y., September 24, 2019 – The Monroe College Express women's volleyball team earned its fourth sweep of the season with a 3-0 (25-12, 25-17, 25-13) win at SUNY Sullivan on Tuesday, moving to 6-1 overall this season.
 
Dennyfer Hernandez led the Express with seven kills, four digs, and three assists. Smeritte Colon had a solid outing, finishing with seven digs, seven aces, and six assists. Julie Towers collected seven kills while Irianna Castillo posted five kills and six aces.
 
Jeribeth Hodge notched a match-high 44 assists, three digs, and three aces in the winning effort. Luz Frias added two blocks and a pair of kills in the win.
 
The Express return to action on Thursday, Sept. 26 in a Region XV match at Rockland Community College in Suffern, N.Y.
 
ABOUT THE ATHLETIC PROGRAM AT MONROE COLLEGE
The athletic program at Monroe College encompasses a total of 30 teams competing across nine sports. There are 19 varsity and junior varsity programs, as well as club men's and women's rugby, competing on the New Rochelle campus as the Monroe Mustangs (NJCAA Division I). The Monroe Express, based out of the Bronx campus as of the fall of 2017, has 11 varsity and junior varsity teams competing at the NJCAA Division III level.
