GAME 1: NASSAU 14, MONROE 1 (5)
On four-straight singles, Nassau took the lead in the top of the first. Chris Morro led off with a single and after John Capozzoli struck out, the Lions strung together back-to-back-to-back-to-back singles to take a 3-0 lead.
The Lions added a pair of runs in the top of the third to extend their lead. With two outs, Michael Iacobellis singled to short. TJ Toscano doubled to center to bring Iacobellis home, and Tucker Hahn singled to center to plate Toscano, extending Nassau's lead to 5-0.
The Express got on the scoreboard in the bottom of the third.
Julian Ovalles-Garcia hit a solo home run to right, his first of the year, to cut the Lions' lead to 5-1.
Edward Mata shut the Lions down in the top of the fourth, but after Monroe left two on in the bottom of the frame, Nassau broke through again in the fifth. The Lions scored nine runs on 10 hits in the top of the fifth inning, capped off by Nick Cavallo's two-run single, to take a 14-1 lead, and Andrew Williams retired the side in the bottom of the fifth to finish off the run-rule victory.

Nassau again took the early lead, striking first in the top of the second. A pair of walks put two runners on for Jordan Miller, who struck out swinging. But after a wild pitch advanced the runners to second and third, Morro singled to center to score a run. However,
Devon Marrero threw Michael Simmons out at home to keep Nassau's lead at just one.
Monroe came right back to tie the game in the bottom of the inning.
Miguel Reicino drew a one-out walk and moved to third on
Juan Jorge's single to center. With
Anthony Gonzalez Jr. at the plate, Jorge and Reicino executed a double steal, tying the game at one.
The Lions retook the lead in the top of the third. A walk and a dropped third strike put two on, for Hahn. Iacobellis scored on a wild pitch to retake the lead, and Hahn's RBI single extended the lead to 3-1.
The Express went in order in the bottom of the inning, but after
Jason Veras worked around a walk in the fourth, Monroe tied the game in the bottom of the frame.
Reicino drew another walk, and Jorge followed with another single, putting runners at the corners. Jorge stole second, and Gonzalez Jr. singled through the left side, scoring both Reicino and Jorge to knot the score at 3-3.
But the Lions came right back to score four runs in the top of the fourth and four more in the top of the fifth to take an 11-3 lead.
The Express cut Nassau's lead to 11-4 in the bottom of the third when
Daniel Coradin scored on a throwing error. But the Lions got out of the inning without any more damage, and Zach Lelonek worked a 1-2-3 bottom of the seventh to give the Lions an 11-4 victory.
