Loquan Deloatch recorded the second triple-double in Monroe Express men's basketball program history as the Express topped ASA College JV, 82-56, on Saturday at the Monroe Athletic Complex.
After the Avengers scored the first five points of the game, the Express responded to tie the score at seven-all with 15:16 left in the first half.
ASA briefly retook the lead on Igor Kagabo's three-pointer, but a 16-2 run over the next 4:38 gave Monroe a 25-14 lead.
The Avengers closed the deficit to eight with 8:11 to go in the first, but the Express brought it back out to 13, 36-23, at the half.
ASA opened the second half on a 9-2 run, cutting Monroe's lead down to six. And though the Express extended it to 10 with a pair of buckets, the Avengers made it a five-point game with just over 13 minutes to play with a 5-0 run.
But the Express outscored ASA, 38-17 the rest of the way to pick up the 82-56 victory.
With the win, the Express move back to .500 at 12-12 on the season.
