New Rochelle, N.Y., November 14, 2019 – Despite four players in double-figures, the Monroe College Express men's basketball team fell to the Queensborough Community College Tigers on Thursday night, 83-75.

The loss drops the Express to 2-2 overall and 1-1 in conference play.
Freshman
Isiah Ryan recorded his second double-double of the season with 12 points and 14 rebounds. Freshman
Adonis Robinson chipped in a team-high 15 points, six rebounds, and two steals. Sophomore
Eric Goodman and freshman
Kevon Wiggins both netted 12 points and three rebounds. Freshman
Derek Smith finished with seven points and six rebounds
Tyrese Apple was the top scorer for Queensborough with a game-high 29 points. Mark Blair added a double-double of 18 points and 13 rebounds, while Devon Matthews had 13 points.
Queensborough shot 52.2 percent from the field (35-of-67) in the contest, compared to Monroe's 40.3 percent from the floor. Queensborough owned the rebounding battle, where the Tigers outrebounded the Express 43-40. The Tigers also forced 17 turnovers.
The Express men's basketball program returns back to action on Tuesday, Nov. 19, welcoming cross-town rival Hostos Community College to the Monroe Athletic Complex at 7:00 p.m.

ABOUT THE ATHLETIC PROGRAM AT MONROE COLLEGE
The athletic program at Monroe College encompasses a total of 30 teams competing across nine sports. There are 19 varsity and junior varsity programs, as well as club men's and women's rugby, competing on the New Rochelle campus as the Monroe Mustangs (NJCAA Division I). The Monroe Express, based out of the Bronx campus as of the fall of 2017, has 11 varsity and junior varsity teams competing at the NJCAA Division III level.
