GARDEN CITY, N.Y., October 15, 2019 - The Monroe Express women's soccer fell to No. 7 nationally ranked Nassau Community College, 12-0, in their regular-season finale on Tuesday.
The Express cap the regular-season portion of their schedule with a 2-9 overall record and a 2-5 mark throughout Region XV play.
The Lions scored 12 goals on 36 shots in the match.
In goal, Myrna Gregorie recorded 11 saves for the Express while Fatoumata Sanneh,
Ramatoulaye Diallo,
Scarly Canela,
Genesis Estrada, and
Joanne Chavez all recorded a shot in the contest for the Express.
Monroe's next game will take place in the first round of the NJCAA Region XV Championship Tournament. The time and opponent for the match are still to be announced.
ABOUT THE ATHLETIC PROGRAM AT MONROE COLLEGE
The athletic program at Monroe College encompasses a total of 30 teams competing across nine sports. There are 19 varsity and junior varsity programs, as well as club men's and women's rugby, competing on the New Rochelle campus as the Monroe Mustangs (NJCAA Division I). The Monroe Express, based out of the Bronx campus as of the fall of 2017, has 11 varsity and junior varsity teams competing at the NJCAA Division III level.
