NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y., February 24, 2018 – The Monroe Express women's basketball team fell to the Monroe Mustangs, 78-13, in the first-ever intra-college matchup between the Mustangs and Express on Sophomore Day at the Monroe Athletic Complex.
 
The Mustangs jumped out to an early lead against the Express, headed into halftime up 33-5, and picked up a 78-13 victory against the Express.
 
Frances Morales led the Express with nine points, adding two rebounds, two assists and a steal, while Tonaya Hollis and Jatekqua Bell eached added three rebounds on their Sophomore Day.
 
With the loss, the Express finish their inaugural season, 7-17, and 7-11 in conference.

ABOUT THE ATHLETIC PROGRAM AT MONROE COLLEGE
The athletic program at Monroe College encompasses a total of 26 teams competing across nine sports. There are 18 varsity and junior varsity programs, as well as club men's rugby, and the newly added club women's rugby team, competing on the New Rochelle campus as the Monroe Mustangs (NJCAA Division I). The Monroe Express, based out of Monroe's Bronx campus has six teams competing at the NJCAA Division III level beginning with their inaugural seasons in the fall of 2017.
