STONE RIDGE, N.Y., November 10, 2018 – Monroe Express men's basketball scored a program-high 107 points as they defeated Ulster County Community College, 107-78 on Saturday. The Express shattered their previous program-high of 100 points scored, set in a win against Essex County College on Feb. 1, 2018.
The Express took a five-point, 48-43, lead into halftime, and pulled away in the second half, outscoring the Senators, 59-35 to pick up a 107-87 victory.
Dashawn Hines led the Express with his first career double-double, totaling 28 points and 17 rebounds, while also adding eight assists.
Gian Batista also scored 28 points, adding seven rebounds and seven assists to his stat line.

Andres Melendez and
Christopher Davis also scored in double figures for the Express, with Peterson and Melendez tallying 12 points, and David notching 10. Davis also added 13 rebounds to record his first double-double in an Express uniform.
The Express are back in action on Tuesday, Nov. 13 when they return to the Monroe Athletic Complex for their home opener against the Suffolk County Community College Sharks. Tip-off is slated for 7 p.m.
ABOUT THE ATHLETIC PROGRAM AT MONROE COLLEGE
The athletic program at Monroe College encompasses a total of 28 teams competing across nine sports. There are 18 varsity and junior varsity programs, as well as club men's and women's rugby, and the newly added club men's volleyball team, competing on the New Rochelle campus as the Monroe Mustangs (NJCAA Division I). The Monroe Express, based out of the Bronx campus as of the fall of 2017, has seven teams competing at the NJCAA Division III level.
