BROOKLYN, N.Y., September 30, 2017 – The Monroe Express women's volleyball team fell in straight-sets to Queensborough Community College, 3-0 Saturday, Sept. 30 at Kingsborough College, dropping to 0-8 on the season.
 
Queensborough (8-2) took set one by the score of 25-6, set two 25-7 and set three 25-14.
 
Yarielys Fernandez led the Express with two services aces, while Jessica Gonzalez added three digs to lead the team.
 
The Express are back in action on Saturday, Oct. 7 when they take on Bronx Community College at American Turners Arena at 12:00 PM.
 
ABOUT THE ATHLETIC PROGRAM AT MONROE COLLEGE
The athletic program at Monroe College encompasses a total of 26 teams competing across nine sports. There are 18 varsity and junior varsity programs, as well as club men's rugby, and the newly added club women's rugby team, competing on the New Rochelle campus as the Monroe Mustangs (NJCAA Division I). The Monroe Express, based out of the Bronx campus, will have six teams competing at the NJCAA Division III level beginning in the fall of 2017.
