Alexis Domingue joined the Monroe Express Athletics Department as an assistant athletic trainer in July of 2024.
Domingue is an emerging athletic trainer with a comprehensive background in physical therapy support, athletic center management, and clinical sports experience. Having completed a master’s degree in athletic training from Stony Brook University (May of 2024) and a bachelor’s degree in health sciences from the New York Institute of Technology (May of 2022), Domingue brings a wealth of knowledge and hands-on expertise to the field.
Known for strong organizational skills, a commitment to patient care, and a proactive approach to safety and wellness, Domingue is well-prepared to contribute to any athletic training team. Their dedication to improving athletes’ performance and health through evidence-based practices and a holistic approach to care sets them apart as a promising professional in the industry.
Domingue is committed to fostering the health and performance of athletes through preventive care, emergency response, and rehabilitation. With a comprehensive skill set and a passion for athletic training, Domingue is poised to make a significant impact at Monroe University - Bronx.
Prior to Monroe, Domingue served as a physical therapy aid at Health SOS Physical and Occupational Therapy from May of 2021 until April of 2022. While they were there, they provided support to patients during therapeutic exercises, ensuring proper technique and safety measures were followed. They also conducted simple range of motion exercises under the guidance of physical therapists and assisted in the set up and maintenance of therapy equipment, ensuring its cleanliness and availability in the process.
In terms of clinical experience, Domingue provided athletic training services to the women’s basketball and tennis teams as a graduate student at Stony Brook University, from January of 2023 until May of 2023. During the 2022 season, they provided athletic training needs for the Seawolves football program.
Outside of Stony Brook, Domingue did clinical work for the fall and winter sports teams at Bellport High School from September of 2023 until December of 2023. They also worked for the Molloy University field hockey team in August of 2023.
Domingue is a native of Elmont, N.Y.
