Edeana Martinez

Edeana Martinez joined the Monroe College - Bronx women's volleyball team as an assistant coach in July of 2021.

In addition to her coaching duties at Monroe - Bronx, Martinez also serves as head coach for three teams in the Legacy Volleyball Club: The girls 17 premier team, the girls 13 to 15 program, and the girls 16 to 18 unit.

During her time at Monroe - Bronx, the Express earned their highest national ranking in program history at No. 4, won its first ever NJCAA Tournament match, captured two district titles, made two appearances in the NJCAA Postseason, claimed the program's first ever Region 15 Championship, earned the NJCAA Tournament Sportsmanship Award, and defeated multiple nationally ranked teams including one in the national tournament.

Prior to Legacy, Martinez was the assistant coach at the All Star Empire Volleyball Association from 2011 until 2015. She helped found the board of directors for the All Star Empire Volleyball Association. In 2017, she served as head coach of the girls 14 national blue team. 

As a player, Martinez competed in several USA National Volleyball Tournaments. Her team won the bronze medal at the national tournament in 2015. 

Martinez played four years (2004-2007) of collegiate volleyball at College of Mount Saint Vincent, an NCAA Division III school in the Bronx, N.Y. Her position was middle blocker. She also played on the Dolphins' women's basketball team during those four years. 
 
The Bronx native earned her bachelor's degree in business administration from College of Mount Saint Vincent in May of 2008.
