Jariah Johnson joins the Monroe College Express women's basketball coaching staff for the 2020-21 season as an assistant coach for the junior varsity program.
Johnson currently serves as an assistant basketball coach for the Harlem USA Panthers. She has also recently worked as a Playstreets Site Director for the Police Athletic League in New York City. Johnson was also a recreational specialist for the Police Athletic League, where she was responsible for engaging youth between the ages of 13 and 19 in a variety of organized sports, games, tournaments, competitions, social and special events, cultural arts and life skills.
A 2019 graduate of Keuka College, Johnson was a two-year member of Keuka's women's basketball team. Johnson averaged 12.2 points and 9.4 rebounds per game while starting 20-of-21 games in her senior season of 2018-19. Johnson was selected to the 2018-19 North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) All-Conference Second Team.
Johnson earned a number of impressive achievements in her time at Keuka. In addition to an All-Conference selection, she was named Student-Athlete of the Week, was a member of the National Society of Leadership and Success and was a National Engaged Leader Award winner. Johnson also won a NEAC Championship in 2017-18.
While competing at Keuka, Johnson was also an athletics events and operations assistant, helping manage and prepare for game day while also assisting in day-to-day operations involved in campus recreation and athletics. Johnson has served as a team leader at the New Heights Summer Academy, was an intramural sports assistant during her time attending Saint Peter's University, and was a basketball operations assistant and statistician for the Children's Aid Society at the Frederick Douglass Center in New York City for seven years.
Johnson resides in New York, N.Y. She graduated from Keuka College in May 2019 with a bachelor of science in management with a concentration in sports management.
