Angelica Uribe-Perez joined the Monroe University - Bronx softball staff as an assistant coach during the 2025 season.
In 2025, Uribe-Perez helped lead the Express to a berth in the Region 15 Championship Round. Nine Monroe - Bronx student-athletes were selected to the All-Region team, including five honorees who earned first-team accolades.Â
No stranger to Monroe, Uribe-Perez was a softball player for the Express during the 2023 and 2024 seasons, serving as a pitcher and playing several games at first base. In her second season, her strong pitching and hitting helped the Express capture the Region 15 Championship. That same season, she served as team captain.Â
In the circle during her sophomore year, Uribe-Perez pitched 95.1 innings and struck out 60 batters. In the third and deciding game of the Region 15 Championship Series at Suffolk County Community College, Uribe-Perez earned a complete-game victory by going nine innings and striking out five batters to clinch the regional title for the Express.Â
At the plate in 2024, Uribe-Perez produced a program single-season best batting average of .464, generated an on-base percentage of .581 (program single-season high), recorded an OPS of 1.241 (program single-season high), scored 27 runs, drilled 45 hits (including a program single-season record 10 doubles), drove in 38 runs, drew 29 walks (the most in a season in program history), added six stolen bases, and lined three home runs.
Also in 2024, Uribe-Perez earned a spot on the All-Region 15 first team, made the Region 15 All-Tournament team, was named to the College Sports Communicators All-District College Division At-Large team, and was the recipient of the Coach's Award at the Monroe Express Athletic Department's Annual Awards Ceremony.
As a freshman, Uribe-Perez was named to both the NJCAA All-Academic second team and the Region 15 All-Academic team.
A native of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, Uribe-Perez earned her bachelor's degree in Human Services from Monroe University - Bronx in June of 2024.Â
