    Assistant Coach - Men's Soccer
David Martinez joined the Monroe University - Bronx men's soccer program as an assistant coach in August of 2026. He has over 20 years of coaching experience both domestically and internationally.

Martinez has coached various youth soccer clubs in Colombia, Mexico, Argentina, Canada, and the United States of America. His American stops include the New York Red Bulls and New York City FC youth soccer programs.

In addition to his coaching responsibilities with the Express, Martinez also serves as the head coach of the Westchester Flames youth soccer team, a position he has held since 2024. He also coaches different youth soccer teams (from under-3 teams up to under-18 programs) such as the Westchester Soccer Pros Sporting Club, the Westchester Little Pros Program, and the Sleepy Hollow Soccer Academy. He has been involved with those programs since 2019. 

Prior to his stint at Westchester, Martinez was the head coach of the Sleepy Hollow High School soccer team from 2021 until 2024. 

From 2017 until 2021, Martinez coached boys (under-8 to high school) and girls (under-9, under-10, and high school) soccer programs at FC Transylvania. 

Prior to FC Transylvania, Martinez coach the KEIO Academy of New York (high school level) from 2004 until 2017. During his time there, he helped KEIO capture the Class C State Championship and led the team to the Class A Section I Final.

Other coaching stops for Martinez include White Plains Youth Soccer (2011-2017), the Olympic Development Program (2005-2006), FC Westchester (2003-2004), and Iona Prep (2001-2003).

Martinez captured 17 championships across seasonal New York leagues. He also won titles coaching teams in Argentina, Colombia, and Mexico. He was named the Section I Coach of the Year in 2006 and 2008. 

Prior to starting his coaching career, Martinez earned his associate degree from Westchester Community College and his bachelor's degree from Manhattanville University.
