"The mental side of the game challenged us tonight, but these young ladies dug deep, leaned on each other, and found a way to come out on top," Express Head Coach Odaly Aponte-Orta said. "Proud of their fight and their growth."

Monroe got off to a quick start in the first set. After falling behind 2-1, the Express rattled off five unanswered points highlighted by back-to-back aces courtesy of Carmona to grab a 6-2 lead. Ramos later tacked on a pair of service aces as the Express built their advantage to 15-11. Bergen (2-4) responded with a brief rally but kills from Diamondnique Stephenson and Gabriela De La Rosa kept momentum with Monroe. Ramos closed the set with her third ace as the Express captured the opener, 25-17, to take a 1-0 lead in the match.

Bergen CC evened the match with a 25-22 win in the second set, despite late pushes from Diaz and Carmona. The Express responded in the third, breaking a 15-15 tie with a 7-2 run fueled by service aces from Diaz and a pair of kills from Carmona before Diaz closed the frame with another ace for a 25-20 victory. The team carried the momentum into the fourth, jumping out to an 8-2 lead behind Eddy and Carmona. De La Rosa added two aces and two kills during a decisive run, and Yamelyn Bonilla delivered the final kill to clinch the set, 25-12, and the 3-1 match victory.
