BRONX – For the fourth year in a row, the Monroe University – Bronx women's volleyball team will compete in the NJCAA Division III Tournament. The entire national postseason will be played at Alliant Energy Powerhouse Arena out in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Monroe (20-5) will enter the field as the No. 15-seed and will take on second-seeded and nationally ranked No. 3 Minnesota West Community & Technical College (35-4) in the opening round on Thursday at 12 p.m. eastern time, 11 a.m. central time.
All matches will be streamed on the NJCAA Network at

The winner will move on the NJCAA Quarterfinals while the non-winner will be eliminated from the main field and pushed down to the consolation bracket. The full NJCAA Division III Women's Volleyball Tournament bracket can be seen

The Express earned their spot in the NJCAA Tournament by capturing their fourth-straight district title back on Saturday, November 1. Monroe defeated Fashion Institute of Technology that day, in five sets, to capture the North Atlantic B District Championship.
The LadyJays advanced to the National Championship match last season. This year, they claimed the Region 13 Championship to secure an automatic bid into nationals.
Leading the way for the Express this season has been
Cherlialix Carmona who earned Region 15 Player of the Year honors by tallying 319 kills and 205 digs.
Aleishka Diaz earned Region 15 Defensive Player of the Year accolades by compiling 449 digs, while adding 89 service aces on the offensive end.
Gabriela De La Rosa has produced 206 putdowns in 23 matches played.
Julia Ramos leads Monroe with 427 assists, while adding 81 aces, during the year.
For the LadyJays, Sadie Krahling has slammed 384 kills, compiled 311 digs, and added 34 blocks this year. Aleah Wagner is also having a good year for Minnesota West, compiling 236 kills, 507 digs, and 22 blocks. Kadyn Paulson has anchored the defense with 602 digs. Kate Slettum is having a strong all-around year with 1,164 assists, 119 kills, 321 digs, 80 service aces, and 32 blocks.

ABOUT THE ATHLETIC PROGRAM AT MONROE UNIVERSITY
The athletic program at Monroe University encompasses a total of 31 teams competing across nine sports. There are 21 varsity and junior varsity programs, as well as club men's and women's rugby, the Monroe University marching band, competing on the New Rochelle campus as the Mustangs (NJCAA Division I). The Monroe Express, based out of the Bronx campus, has seven teams competing at the NJCAA Division III level.
