BRONX – The nationally ranked No. 14 Monroe University – Bronx women's volleyball team will close out the regular season on Saturday with two important Region 15 contests on the campus of Nassau Community College.
First, it will be a battle of nationally ranked teams as Monroe will take on No. 12 Fashion Institute of Technology at 12 p.m. The first-place Tigers are undefeated at 13-0 in the region and 17-0 overall. Monroe is 13-1 against Region 15 opponents, good for second place in the regional standings, and 17-3 for the year. The winner of this match will have a strong chance of entering the Region 15 Postseason as the No. 1 seed.
After the match against FIT, the Express will battle Borough of Manhattan Community College (7-10, 6-8 Region 15) at around 2 p.m. The Panthers are battling for the eighth and final playoff spot and are currently on the outside looking in.
Cherlialix Carmona is leading the way for the Express with 247 kills and 159 digs in 2025.
Aleishka Diaz has a team-high 361 digs.
Julia Ramos has compiled 341 assists and 69 aces.
For FIT, Beatriz Vidal has 117 kills and 121 digs this year. Juun Shin has compiled 357 assists, 68 service aces, and 142 defensive bumps. Gabrielle Buencochillo has anchored the defense with 274 digs.
For BMCC, Sarah Sellami leads the way with 141 kills, 69 service victories, and 142 digs this season. Gina Arias has produced 57 blocks. Audrey Hang has compiled 200 digs and 11 blocks to propel the Panthers defensively.

ABOUT THE ATHLETIC PROGRAM AT MONROE UNIVERSITY
The athletic program at Monroe University encompasses a total of 31 teams competing across nine sports. There are 21 varsity and junior varsity programs, as well as club men's and women's rugby, the Monroe University marching band, and the newly added esports and men's volleyball programs, competing on the New Rochelle campus as the Mustangs (NJCAA Division I).
