BRONX, N.Y. – The Monroe University – Bronx women's volleyball team will return to action on Saturday for a non-region matchup against Union County College. First serve at Union College Gym is set for 12:00 p.m.

This marks the second-ever meeting between the Express and the Owls. Union won the first match, in straight sets, out in New Jersey back on September 19, 2019.
Monroe finished its season-opening Upstate trip with a record of 1-2, highlighted by a thrilling come-from-behind victory in the first match of the season over Broome Community College back on August 30.
Leading the way for the Express so far this season has been freshman outside hitter
Gabriela De La Rosa who is averaging 2.31 kills per set. Anchoring the defense have been rookies
Arielys Colon and
Aleishka Diaz who are generating 2.50 and 2.00 digs per set, respectively.
Union County (0-1) dropped its season opener on its home court to Ocean County College, 3-1, back on August 28. In that match, second-year outside hitter Kayla Carter produced five kills, 18 digs, and two service aces. Freshman libero Nicole Pantle generated 14 digs and two service aces, while sophomore setter Molly Vetter recorded 46 assists, six digs, four service aces, and a pair of kills.
ABOUT THE ATHLETIC PROGRAM AT MONROE UNIVERSITY
The athletic program at Monroe University encompasses a total of 31 teams competing across nine sports. There are 21 varsity and junior varsity programs, as well as club men's and women's rugby, the Monroe University marching band, and the newly added esports and men's volleyball programs, competing on the New Rochelle campus as the Mustangs (NJCAA Division I). The Monroe Express, based out of the Bronx campus, has seven teams competing at the NJCAA Division III level.
