No. 10 Express Women's Volleyball Set for Region 15 Matches Against Rockland and Westchester on Saturday, September 23

BRONX - The nationally ranked No. 10 Monroe College - Bronx women's volleyball team will compete in two Region 15 matches, at Nassau CC Main Gym, on Saturday afternoon, September 23. The Express will take on Rockland Community College at 12:00 p.m. and then battle Westchester Community College at 2:00 p.m.

There will be no live stats or live streaming video for the matches but please check out MonroeExpress.com, as well as our social media channels, for updates and results of the two matches.

The Express are currently undefeated in Region 15 play this year at 4-0, and are 9-1 overall. Monroe - Bronx is coming off a key Region 15 road win over Nassau Community College, in straight sets, this past Thursday evening.

Leading the way for the Express this season has been sophomore outside hitter Lisanel Rodriguez who is scoring 3.93 points per set, slamming home 2.83 kills per stanza, averaging 1.07 service aces per set, and recording 2.41 digs per frame. Second-year libero Valery Nunez has been a force on the defensive end with 4.21 digs per set. Sophomore setter Luisanni Rodriguez is having a great all-around season for the Express with 5.55 assists per frame, 1.98 points per game, 1.14 kills per set, and 2.07 digs per stanza.

Rockland (0-5, 0-4 Region 15) has been led by freshman Desire George who is averaging 1.92 kills per game and 4.54 digs per set.

For Westchester, (2-1, 2-1 Region 15), sophomore middle blocker Gabriella Cresti Caetano is averaging 2.42 kills per set and is anchoring the defense with 1.50 digs per stanza. She also has 11 total blocks so far this year. Freshman outside hitter Julia Pawlowicz leads the team with 2.29 digs per frame and is slamming home 1.86 kills per set. 

Monroe is 2-5 all-time against Rockland and 3-5 all-time against Westchester. 

ABOUT THE ATHLETIC PROGRAM AT MONROE COLLEGE
The athletic program at Monroe College encompasses a total of 31 teams competing across nine sports. There are 21 varsity and junior varsity programs, as well as club men's and women's rugby, the Monroe College marching band, and the newly added esports and men's volleyball programs, competing on the New Rochelle campus as the Mustangs (NJCAA Division I). The Monroe Express, based out of the Bronx campus, has seven teams competing at the NJCAA Division III level.
