BRONX - The nationally ranked No. 9 Monroe College - Bronx women's volleyball team will travel to Binghamton, N.Y. to take on Broome Community College, in a pair of matches at Baldwin Gymnasium, on Wednesday, August 23. The first serve of the opening contest is set for 1:00 p.m.

There will be no live stats or live streaming video for the pair of matches but we will be providing updates throughout the contests via Twitter/X (@MonroeExpress) and Threads (@MonroeExpress). 

The Express got off to a great start in their 2023 season this past Saturday by winning two matches in straight sets against NJCAA Region 19 Playoff teams from a year ago, Atlantic Cape Community College and Raritan Valley Community College. The Express were led to victory by their captains Lisanel Rodriguez and Valery Nunez. The full recap of those two wins can be seen here. 

This marks the season opener for the Hornets who advanced all the way to the NJCAA North A District Championship match last season. Broome will have four returners from last year's team, Gabriella Bishop, Madyson McMorrow, Casie Kephart, and Anna Tiberia, as well as five newcomers. 

ABOUT THE ATHLETIC PROGRAM AT MONROE COLLEGE
The athletic program at Monroe College encompasses a total of 31 teams competing across nine sports. There are 21 varsity and junior varsity programs, as well as club men's and women's rugby, the Monroe College marching band, and the newly added esports and men's volleyball programs, competing on the New Rochelle campus as the Mustangs (NJCAA Division I). The Monroe Express, based out of the Bronx campus, has seven teams competing at the NJCAA Division III level.
