BRONX – The nationally ranked No. 6 Monroe College – Bronx women's volleyball team will host Queensborough Community College in a critical Region 15 matchup, at Monsignor Scanlan Gymnasium, on Thursday, October 19. First serve is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
It will be Sophomore Night and Monroe College – Bronx will honor its women's volleyball sophomores,

Xing Stewart-Greer,
Lesly Almonte,
Luisanni Rodriguez,
Valery Nunez, and
Lisanel Rodriguez with a ceremony prior to the start of the match.

The last time these two teams met, Monroe – Bronx (16-1, 11-0 Region 15) pulled out a thrilling five-set victory over Queensborough (13-3, 12-2 Region 15), at RFK Gymnasium, back on October 3.
Monroe is currently tied with Dutchess Community College for first place in the Region 15 standings with an 11-0 record in regional play. Queensborough is currently in third place at 12-2 against Region 15 opponents.
Leading the way for the Express this season has been
Lisanel Rodriguez who is scoring 4.43 points per set, slamming home 3.27 kills per stanza, has nailed 1.10 service aces, per game, and produced 2.87 digs per set.
Luisanni Rodriguez is generating 6.63 assists per frame and 2.12 digs per game. Nunez has been anchoring the defense with 4.77 digs per set. Mitchell is slamming home 1.63 kills per set and 1.46 digs per frame.
For the Tigers, rookie outside hitter Michelle Lui is averaging 2.24 kills per set and 2.45 digs per game. Freshman libero Cynthia Saravia Reyes has anchored the defense with 4.90 digs per set, while first-year setter Isabel Torres has made an impact as a setter with 5.56 assists per stanza.
Monroe – Bronx is 3-7 all-time against Queensborough, but the Express have won the last three matches against the Tigers.
ABOUT THE ATHLETIC PROGRAM AT MONROE COLLEGE
The athletic program at Monroe College encompasses a total of 31 teams competing across nine sports. There are 21 varsity and junior varsity programs, as well as club men's and women's rugby, the Monroe College marching band, and the newly added esports and men's volleyball programs, competing on the New Rochelle campus as the Mustangs (NJCAA Division I). The Monroe Express, based out of the Bronx campus, has seven teams competing at the NJCAA Division III level.
