BRONX - The nationally ranked No. 6 Monroe College - Bronx women's volleyball team will return home on Tuesday, October 14, to take on Region 15 rival Nassau Community College at Monsignor Scanlan Gymnasium. First serve is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. It is a special night as the Express women's volleyball team will be hosting Breast Cancer Awareness night. The Monroe women's volleyball team will don "Monroe Express Spikes Breast Cancer" t-shirts during warmups.

On Monday, October 16, Monroe - Bronx (15-1, 10-0 Region 15) jumped up to No. 6 in the NJCAA Division III Women's Volleyball National Rankings. That's the highest rank that Monroe has earned in program history. The full poll can be seen

The Express look to remain undefeated in regional play, while the Lions (6-6, 5-5 Region 15) are currently the fifth seed in the Region 15 standings. The top eight teams in the regional standings at the end of the regular season will make the postseason. Monroe is tied with Dutchess Community College for the No. 1 seed as neither team has lost a Region 15 match this year.
Leading the way for the Express has been sophomore outside hitter
Lisanel Rodriguez who is scoring 4.52 points per set, slamming home 3.31 kills per stanza, has nailed 1.14 service aces, per game, and produced 2.82 digs per set. Classmate
Luisanni Rodriguez is generating 6.59 assists per frame and 2.16 digs per game. Sophomore libero
Valery Nunez has been anchoring the defense with 4.80 digs per set. Second-year outside hitter
Selena Mitchell is slamming home 1.66 kills per set and 1.41 digs per frame.
For the Lions, freshman outside hitter Sarah Kollarik is nailing 2.34 put downs and producing 2.59 digs per set. Rookie libero Morgan Sullivan has led the way on defense with 5.59 digs per stanza. First-year setter Elizabeth Wagner has 5.22 assists and 1.57 digs per game.
Monroe - Bronx and Nassau are 4-4 all-time against each other.
ABOUT THE ATHLETIC PROGRAM AT MONROE COLLEGE
The athletic program at Monroe College encompasses a total of 31 teams competing across nine sports. There are 21 varsity and junior varsity programs, as well as club men's and women's rugby, the Monroe College marching band, and the newly added esports and men's volleyball programs, competing on the New Rochelle campus as the Mustangs (NJCAA Division I). The Monroe Express, based out of the Bronx campus, has seven teams competing at the NJCAA Division III level.
