Garden City, NY, September 25, 2021 - On Saturday afternoon, the Monroe Express women's volleyball team dropped both of their regional matches at Nassau Community College. In the opener, the Express were defeated by Rockland Community College in consecutive sets 20-25,11-25,18-25 and fell in a five-set barn burner (23-25,25-16,25-21,21-25,15-8). Both losses drop the Express's record to 0-4 (0-3 Region 15) on the season.
Sophomore Jeribeth Hodge (Bronx, N.Y.) led the offensive attack for the Express smashing a team-high six kills and registering two service aces. Freshman Adaiah Felix (Bronx, New York) placed a team-best three service aces and added a kill, while classmate Arielys Colon (Bronx, New York) had two kills and added a service ace of her own.
After the Vikings took the opening set, the Express rallied to take back-to-back sets 25-15 and 25-21 before dropping the next two 25-21 and 15-8. Freshman Adaiah Felix (Bronx, New York) uncorked a career-high nine kills, while classmate Arielys Colon (Bronx, New York) also dropped a career-best high with five aces. Fellow underclassmen Yorlennis Nunez (Bronx, N.Y. ) placed four service aces of her own, and both her and Colon had three kills apiece.
Sophomore Jeribeth Hodge (Bronx, N.Y.) dished out a team-high 10 assists and posted two service aces. Colon led the Express with three digs while Kieralis Ortiz (Bronx, New York) posted a team-best three blocks, and Hodge had two.

ABOUT THE ATHLETIC PROGRAM AT MONROE COLLEGE
The athletic program at Monroe College encompasses a total of 36 teams competing across nine sports. There are 19 varsity and junior varsity programs, as well as club men's and women's rugby, the Monroe College marching band, and the newly added esports program, competing on the New Rochelle campus as the Mustangs (NJCAA Division I). The Monroe Express, based out of the Bronx campus, has 17 teams competing at the NJCAA Division III level.
