New Rochelle, N.Y., February, 2020Â - The Monroe College Express JV women's basketball closed out 2019-20 season on Thursday night, falling to Suffolk County Community College, 82-21 at home.
Freshman Ashley Molina led the Express with a team-high eight points and five rebounds Freshman Alimah Goodwin recorded six points and six rebounds. Freshman Tiffani Turpin registered seven points, three rebounds, and two assists. Rookie Talynthia Riley-Miller grabbed six while Rovell Cayenne added three rebounds, two steals, and a block.
The Express concludes the season with an overall record of 2-15.Â
ABOUT THE ATHLETIC PROGRAM AT MONROE COLLEGE
The athletic program at Monroe College encompasses a total of 30 teams competing across nine sports. There are 19 varsity and junior varsity programs, as well as club men's and women's rugby, competing on the New Rochelle campus as the Monroe Mustangs (NJCAA Division I). The Monroe Express, based out of the Bronx campus as of the fall of 2017, has 11 varsity and junior varsity teams competing at the NJCAA Division III level.
