BROOKLYN, N.Y., OCTOBER 5 - The Monroe College women's soccer team earned its first shutout of the season, toppling Kingsborough Community College on Saturday, 7-0.
Ramatoulaye Diallo continued her stellar play, scoring a season-high fives in the win for the Express.
Joanne Chavez netted a pair and an assist in the match.
Diallo got things started for the Monroe just eight minutes into the game when she fired a shot past the keeper to make it a 1-0 game. In the 24
th minute, Diallo knocked in her second goal off a pass from
Joanne Chavez to extend the lead to 2-0 for the Mustangs.
Less than a minute later, Chavez join in on the scoring, netting an unassisted goal. Diallo stayed hot, scoring twice more and added an assist while Chavez buried her second strike to give the Express a 6-0 advantage entering halftime.
In the 65
th minute, Diallo banked her fifth score of the day to lead the Monroe to a 7-0 victory.

Myrna Gregorie earned the win, making four saves in her first shutout.
The Express outshot Kingsborough 22-5 in the contest while holding a 15 shots on goal advantage.
The Express will have a short turnaround, returning to competition on Monday, Oct. 7th against the Pace University JV squad in Plesantville, N.Y. The match is set to begin at 8 p.m
