BROOKLYN, N.Y., October 13, 2018 – Monroe Express women's soccer fell in their regular season finale to the Fashion Institute of Technology, 9-0, on Saturday.
 
After a scoreless 20 minutes to open the first half, Gabrielle L'Insalata got the Tigers on the scoreboard with her 24th-minute goal, giving FIT a 1-0 lead.
 
The Tigers added two more goal in the first half, and six in the second half, including a total of five off the boot of L'Insalata, to defeat the Express, 9-0.
 
Julia Hermoso led the way for the Express, making 18 saves in goal.
 
With the loss, the Express wrap up the 2018 regular season at 2-6 (2-5 Region XV).

ABOUT THE ATHLETIC PROGRAM AT MONROE COLLEGE
The athletic program at Monroe College encompasses a total of 26 teams competing across nine sports. There are 18 varsity and junior varsity programs, as well as club men's rugby, and the newly added club women's rugby team, competing on the New Rochelle campus as the Monroe Mustangs (NJCAA Division I). The Monroe Express, based out of Monroe's Bronx campus has six teams competing at the NJCAA Division III level beginning with their inaugural seasons in the fall of 2017.
