BRENTWOOD, N.Y., November 14, 2017 – The Monroe Express men's basketball team fell to Suffolk County Community College, 95-72 on Tuesday, dropping to 0-4 on the season.
For the second-straight game,
Gian Batista led the way for the Express, scoring 23 points on 10-of-11 shooting from the field. But it wasn't for the Express, who were outscored by 16 in the first half, and seven in the second.
The Sharks took a 45-29 lead into halftime against Monroe and pulled away with a 50-45 second half to take home a 95-72 victory, dealing the Express their fourth loss of the season.
Batista tallied four rebounds, three assists and two steals to go along with his season-high 23 points, and the Express 60.9 percent from the floor, but it wasn't enough against Suffolk County.
The Express head home for the first time season, opening the home portion of their schedule against Queensborough Community College on Thursday, Nov. 16 at 8 p.m. at the Monroe Athletic Complex in New Rochelle, N.Y.
