Rick Swillinger

Rick Swillinger joined Monroe College in 2017 to head the Division III Monroe Express Men’s Basketball program on the Bronx Campus. 

Coach Swillinger has extensive coaching experience in the sport at the high school and college levels. He has served as Head Coach of the Boys Basketball program at Walton High School since 1999, leading his team to the PSAL Bronx Championship title three times. After winning that title for the 2016-2017 academic year, the Walton team went on to win the PSAL City Championship title as well. 

In addition to his coaching work, Coach Swillinger has worked for the New York City Board of Education for the last 36 years as a physical education teacher.

He earned his undergraduate degree in Sports Management at St. John’s University and his Masters of Science in Physical Education at Brooklyn College.
