Monroe University Bronx

Robert Herrera had a historic week to lead the Monroe University - Bronx baseball team to four wins, including three Region 15 victories over Dutchess Community College. He eclipsed 100 career hits.

Herrera produced his 100th career hit in grand fashion in the top of the third inning of Game 1 on April 18. With the bases loaded, Herrera took the first pitch he saw and drilled the ball over the fence in center field for a grand slam. That milestone blast gave Monroe a 10-1 advantage. 

In Game 2, Herrera produced an RBI single in the top of the first and then hit a three-run homer to center in the top of the third for his second round-tripper of the afternoon and his 102nd career hit. 

During the two games, Herrera went 3-for-5 with eight RBIs and five runs scored. In Game 1, he walked three times and stole a base.
