Melissa Martinez helped lead the Express softball team to a sweep of Roxbury Community College by earning two wins in the circle. In Game 1, she gave up just two earned runs in three innings pitched. In Game 2, Martinez dominated in the circle, throwing a complete game five-hitter with five strikeouts and only one walk, earning the win. She kept Roxbury's offense off balance all game with precise control and timely pitch selection, allowing just one earned run over five innings. Martinez's strong outing not only secured her second win of the day but also highlighted her poise and endurance, as she effectively shut the door on any potential comeback.
During the two games, Martinez also made an impact at the plate. In the opening contest, she went 2-for-3, scoring four times and adding three RBIs. In Game 2, she went 1-for-4 and drove in four runs.
