Velez was a pivotal part in Express softball’s season-high 11 runs notched in game one of Saturday, April 1st’s doubleheader against the Orange County Community College Colts. In that game, she registered two hits in three at bats, scoring three runs. Velez also smacked her first home run of the season in game two of Saturday’s series, in the close ending to Orange.
