Express Athletics Department Earns Top 30 Finish in Final NATYCAA Ron Case Cup Rankings

BRONX – The National Alliance of Two Year College Athletic Administrators (NATYCAA) released the final Ron Case Cup rankings for the 2025-26 season. Monroe University – Bronx finished in the top 30 within the NJCAA Non-Scholarship Category. The Express Athletics Department ended up in a tie for No. 27 with Northampton Community College (34 points each). 

The Ron Case Cup presented by Daktronics recognizes excellence in two-year college athletics based on success in championship competition across all sports. The program is divided into three categories: NJCAA Scholarship, NJCAA Non-Scholarship, and State Associations (CCCAA & NWAC).

It was a successful year for the Express Athletics Department, as Monroe – Bronx's teams captured two district championships, two regional titles, and four Region 15 final appearances. All seven Express teams qualified for the regional postseason and three programs qualified for the NJCAA National Tournament. 

The women's volleyball team won its fourth consecutive district title, the latest being the 2025 North Atlantic B District championship. The women's basketball team captured the Region 15 and Northeast District titles. Both women's volleyball and women's basketball competed in nationals. The men's volleyball team advanced to the Region 15 semifinal round and earned an at-large bid into the inaugural NJCAA Men's Volleyball Championship Tournament. The baseball team claimed the Region 15 title and a berth in the Northeast District Championship Series. The men's basketball team advanced to the Region 15 title game for the second year in a row. The men's soccer team advanced to the regional semifinal round, while the softball program made it to the Region 15 Postseason. 

ABOUT THE ATHLETIC PROGRAM AT MONROE UNIVERSITY
The athletic program at Monroe University encompasses a total of 31 teams competing across nine sports. There are 21 varsity and junior varsity programs, as well as club men's and women's rugby, the Monroe University marching band, and the newly added esports and men's volleyball programs, competing on the New Rochelle campus as the Mustangs (NJCAA Division I). The Monroe Express, based out of the Bronx campus, has seven teams competing at the NJCAA Division III level.
